All it takes is 1 ad

3 years ago, I was approached to run ads for a new pillow for side sleepers

They had no ad account, no website but an amazing product. We were fully building from scratch

After the site was made, we started testing ads.

I filmed my brother explaining the product, had my mom make an ad and started casting some talent that I worked with before

Nothing was working, even though we were spending $100-$300 / day on testing these ads

Then we filmed the same script and format with a good looking male talent

The company took off

We went from spending $5k per month to $150k per month, just off this one talent

We ended up doing about $3M in revenue in year 1

Of course we iterated on this winning ad because it burnt out but the amount of scale we achieved from 1 ad proves that all it takes is 1 winning creative

Test every variable - Talent, script, location, etc

When you create a winning ad, you’ll know

Your metrics will start to look unbelievable

You’ll turn off the Shopify ding notification because the noise is annoying

And you’ll start to understand what resonates with your audience

This still happens with my current clients

Ads will perform decently well but one special ad will just click, and it’s usually the one you don’t predict will do very well

Keep testing and keep filming because all it takes is 1 ad to scale the business
